Omega Hive is a cryptocurrency MaaS provider that was commissioned by a client in upstate NY. Justin developed the business model, brand identity, logo design and the website from the ground up. The company never ended up launching but the assets and website is still available to view on https://omegaapp.azurewebsites.net/
For the logo, I abstracted the concept of cloud mining and branched out to concepts naturally synonymous to it and that's when I came across bees, bee colonies, and beehives and the 'Hive Mining'.
For the logo I went with a hexagon design to best represent a series of systems working together in unison.
I developed the Omega Hive website from the ground-up by myself working on both the back and front-end of the site. The website is a full web app with Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) functions to a database.
Technologies used include NodeJS, ReactJS, MongoDB NoSQL, bcrypt and much more.
All passwords are hashed and encrypted on the database and modeled quite extensively to fit the business model.
The most important part of the business model outside of the websites was the machines itself, the cooling and electricity costs.
The company was based in Quebec, Canada and had the lowest cost per kWh in the entire world at just $0.03/kWh starting.
Machines we used were considerably top-end, sensible and best value at the time utilizing Rx VEGA and GeForce GTX Pascal GPUs mining Ethereum and Monero coins.
Being up north helped the temperatures a lot and we set up the dimensions for efficient dissipation of heat that the machines exhausted installing four high-powered industrial fans in our first warehouse.
